Multicultural Greek Organization Recruitment
Both fraternities and sororities multicultural organizations, recruit through a process known as intake. The intake process for every chapter is defined by its inter/national/local organization. Membership intake is a unique experience from other Greek recruitment events. Membership intake consists of you learning about Multicultural Greek Organizations, you attending an informational meeting about the organization (e.g. informational, interest meeting, or tea), you submitting your application directly to the organization of your interest, gaining verification of grades and other requirements, gaining approval from the organization, starting the new member education process, participating in initiation and ultimately having a new member presentation/probate where the community comes to find out who the organization's new members are. The entire new member education process is secret for most organizations so most people will not know that you are a new member until your new member presentation.
Meet the Greeks

The Multicultural Greek Council and National Pan-Hellenic Council organizations collaborate to provide an overview of all that Greek life has to offer. National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. Membership Intake
The NPHC fraternities and sororities at the University of Oregon select members through a process called Membership Intake. Membership Intake is the process of selecting, educating and initiating new members into a fraternity or sorority. This process is prescribed by the national organization.
NPHC fraternities and sororities will individually announce their membership selection/intake process during the term, and they will explain their membership process at informational meetings (informationals). Interested students are encouraged to check out the national web sites for the various NPHC fraternities and sororities and to attend events sponsored by the local chapters of the fraternities and sororities. By doing this, they will gain a better perspective of the organization and its members so that they can make an informed decision regarding membership.
More information can be found in the Membership Intake Packet.
