Currently, the fraternity and sorority community comprises of over 16% of the overall student body. There are 18 recognized fraternities on campus and 11 recognized sororities. Thanks to a growing student population and a renewed interest in Greek organizations, the University of Oregon's fraternity and sorority life has grown and will continue to grow. In order to manage the growth and advocate for the population of fraternity men on campus, the Interfraternity Council was formed and continues to preside over the fraternity community to this day.
